Military Recruiter Charged with Multiple Sexual Crimes

On Behalf of Law Office of Kerrisa Chelkowski | Jan 28, 2013 | Firm News

A Houston-area recruiter was charged with multiple criminal counts of sex crimes on January 4th. Tech Sargent Jaime R. Rodriguez is alleged to have had sexual misconduct with at least 18 different women who were looking to join the military. Rodriguez is a 13 year veteran of the Air Force who received a court-martial at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, which has a storied history of sex crimes itself.

The Air Force has accused of Rodriguez of sex crimes such as rape, forcible sodomy, adultery, obstructing justice, indecent conduct, aggravated sexual conduct and making a false statement. Some of these charges can result in life in prison if he is found guilty, while being convicted of rape is punishable by the death penalty. The case itself has been under investigation for quite some time with allegations as far back as 2009.

“It was brought to our attention in November 2011, and basically it was brought to the attention of one of the mothers who saw inappropriate texting over the phone,” said Christa D’Andrea, spokeswoman for the Air Force Recruiting Service. Rodriguez has sent naked pictures of himself to applicants as well as requesting indecent photos of the girls.

Military personnel have a lot at stake if they are convicted of any type of crime. Servicemen and women have their careers, reputation, retirement, and freedoms on the line. If you have been charged with a sex crime at a federal or state level, then it is important to get the help of a skilled litigator.Contact an experienced criminal defense attorney in San Antonio who can prepare an effective defense.
